Self-hosted vs. on-premise
A self-hosted intranet means the software runs inside infrastructure you own and control — not a vendor's multi-tenant cloud. With Axero, you deploy the platform into your own cloud account (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). You hold the keys, your data stays on your network, and Axero has no standing access to it.
A traditional on-premise intranet takes that one step further: the platform runs on physical servers inside your own data center. It's the right fit for air-gapped networks and organizations whose policies don't allow public-cloud workloads at all.
Both are "self-hosted" in the sense that matters most to a security team — the data and the infrastructure are yours. Axero supports either model. Prefer a fully managed option?
